Shoalstone Pool is in danger of disappearing beneath the waves ‘so to speak’ and this site has been set up to help us all save one of the UK’s very special Sea Water Pools.
This historic sea water pool is operated by volunteers who work tirelessly to re-claim the pool from the ravages inflicted upon it by the wild winter storms and huge seas. It is one of only a few remaining sea water pools in this country and is located in an idyllic spot in Brixham, Devon. Funds are urgently needed to ensure the pool opens for the 2012 season.
Swimming is good exercise! Swimming is good fun! Swimming is a lifetime sport that benefits the body and the whole person! Swimming is a healthy activity that can be continued for a lifetime! The health benefits swimming offers are worth the effort it takes to get to the swimming pool, get into your swimsuit, and then get into the pool and swim, play and have fun. Oh . . . and the cafe, chat and community are pretty good too!
