A beautiful mountain lake just underneath the peak of Pen Y Fan. Quiet and secluded – easy to reach from the car park by following the footpath along the stream and then up through the fields in the direction of the peak.

Fantastic! Probably a reasonably easy walk up to it in normal circumstances, but we had a bit of a hard slog. We did it on the hottest day of July, but it was sssooo worth it once there. When approaching the loch, walk around to the far side, and you can get a bit more privacy from the lie of the land beside some large steep rock faces. A bit more sheltered from the wind round there too, and from envious hill walkers!!
