Following the public footpath from the Ashburton road near Holne village, it’s a gorgeous walk downhill through fields to where the footpath meets the River Dart. Walk off the path down to the rivers edge where there is two points to swim into the river, one with rocky ledges and a rope swing, the other further on west along the river with sand sloping into the rocks and straight into the river pool, gentle currents and well secluded for a relaxing skinny dip, the sun glimpsing through the tree canopys gave it a whimsical appeal. Well worth the walk and the climb back up to the road.
