Beautiful tidal pool which curves under the cliffs on the North Cornwall coast. Semi-natural construction and filled twice daily at high tide with sea water (so totally untreated and unheated).
Approx 90m long, variable width.
Slopes and ladders for access. Ramp can be slippy! Variable depth as sand and stones swept in with the tide.
Provides calm haven for seaside bathing right next to the Atlantic, without the danger of the rips / currents in the bay, or being mown down by surfers.
Lifeguards present during peak times in summer, but pool swimmable for most of year — often warm through to Oct or even Nov.

i swam here last week with some members of the Bude sea pool society. its now registered as a charity to try and prevent the council closing it. was a magical experience. rated very highly in my list of wonderful places to swim. i hope that the society continues to prevent closure.
