Wallingford Beach is on the east [Crowmarsh] bank of the Thames, immediately downstream of Wallingford Bridge.
Access is by car or bus along the A4130. Narrow north turn-off on the east bridge approach, leading to a Council car park, toilets and artificial swimming pool. Then under the bridge to the south [downstream] side.
Foot access is via a path from the south side of the bridge approach.
The beach is sandy, about 35 metres long, with water sloping gradually to the mid-stream. Boat traffic is prohibited along the beach. Dogs welcome. There is virtually no current during the season.
There is a large grassy meadow behind the beach to picnic or camp. No changing facilities, but rubbish bins just by the underpass under the bridge. There is frequently an ice-cream/snack van during peak times, near the car park on the north side of the bridge.
