Beautiful small tarn, relatively warm, under skyline of Langdale Pikes. Basic but scenic campsite adjoining.

Fantastic setting with a great view of the langdale pikes, quite alot of walkers overlooking on the high path round the tarn, water on the fresh side 11/09/13.

This must be one of the loveliest places to swim in the Lake District with the superb backdrop of the Langdale Pikes. The water is relatively warm as no major rivers feed into it. Go in the early evening after you have had a long walk and need to refresh your weary limbs! By the most people have headed home for tea and you may well have the lake toy yourself, apart from the ducks and grebes.

Beautiful place to swim on a summer’s day with a backdrop of mountains and blue skies. Bear in mind that cows come down to the water’s edge and getting in can mean wading through a fairly ‘enriched’ stretch.

Lovely spot, beautiful swimming. Quite busy but still feels secluded. Lovely looking small campsite next to it. Wonderful.
