A series of river pools and falls set beneath an old packhorse bridge. Grassy banks and good paddling. A deep cauldron into which the brave jump. Longer river pools. Set below a caravan park though peaceful stretches in the field downstream. Peaty water.

As I grew up a few miles up the road from this amazing place I can honestly say it has been frequented and enjoyed by the village youths for many years, in fact it is very likely the local youths constructed the rope swing. As a child there was never anyone there that wasn’t from school, it’s a beautiful, stunning place but it’s the youths that make it a play ground!

our local spot for everything. jumps, getting in behind the waterfalls with the salmon trying to jump over you, rope swing set up on far side (for the trusting-we tested it and it worked on the day) seems to be becoming a popular spot with the worlds youth and when we were last there (yesterday) there is now a sign saying police patrol due to anti social behaviour (noise and rubbish) so kids have some damn respect and play responsibly. we never see anyone apart from walkers and photographers and have a great day out everytime. stay away annoying people!!

Nice little plunge pool to do some jumps and dives! Go on a sunny weekday to avoid yob-tourists.
