2km of river with little beaches (R bank) and grassy expanses of meadow (L bank). Shelving to up to 2m deep. Beware of boats.

Went on a sunny day early September 2015, and it was lovely. Swam from the west bank after a walk through Port Meadow and Burgess Field. Since it was around 3pm most of the river was in the shade, but it wasn’t a big problem.

great place for night/moonlight swim due to huge horizon, Went 27 Aug 2015 with Maggie, 3 luminous swans were spectators, buzzed by a bat too! , .
