Central Lostwithiel, near train station, loads of parking, approx 500 yards of paddlable/swimmable river but the best and easiest place is near the main bridge itself – its generally shallow river so you really need to look for the higher tides when the depth swells (as the river backs up from Fowey).
There is a grassed area with benches for picnics and that’s where the nicest most swimmable “pool” is – see photo
