Two spectacular Waterfall or Gorge deep in a woody gorge. One is 5m high with 80m plunge pool, open and awe-inspiring. The other is 12m high with a 50m wide plunge pool, deep, dark and terrifying!

Awesome place, two waterfalls, first is a bit of a mess about climbing back up once the rock is wet but the second is easy. We went in the summer and set up a BBQ on the second of the waterfalls and made a full day of it. Went to the Tan Hill pub after, nice little pub but the barmaid was the most impolite, horrible woman I’ve had the displeasure of speaking to, don’t let her ruin your day, overall great place to camp/swim/cliff jump.
Cold, deep and black. The sun doesn’t get into the depths of the gorge, at least in April. This is true outdoor swimming. When I go to the south and people tell me the water’s cold, I think about this place, because by comparison it just isn’t.
Generally quiet, and not too far from Tan Hill pub. If you don’t live in the area, it’s worth spending a night here because it’s quite isolated, even from towns like Richmond.
Wonderful little spot. Bit of a scramble to get to but totally worth it. Good swimming and after checking the depth was able to jump in off the top of the upper falls.
