Gosfield Lake is mainly used for water skiing but they do open water swimming on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings. Cost is £5. There is a kayak lifeguard and a single (so men & women share) changing room with hot showers. Plus a cafe selling hot food and drinks with an adjoining covered decking area with seating.
The lake is fairly shallow so heats quickly and the water is quite muddy, probably due to churning by the water ski speedboat, but it’s pretty pleasant and leaves your skin nice and soft.
There is a 1500m circuit up and down the lake and round the ski jump and a 300m circuit staying close to the entry point, so good for novices.
