Cirencester Open Air Swimming Pool is a registered charity and is now in its 142nd year (one of the oldest open air pools in the country!)
Between Midday Friday 31st August and Midday Saturday 1st September the pool will be holding a Late Night Charity Swim. The event gives you the opportunity to swim at dawn, dusk or even in the middle of the night! The event will end with a bbq and a bonfire will be present throughout the night!
The late night charity swim involves swimmers choosing a 20 minute time slot in which they swim as many or as few lengths as they wish. This is a family friendly event and the main idea of the event is to have at least one swimmer in the pool for a whole 24hour period. Entry is £1.50 per person, per 20 minute slot and prior to the event we ask for the swimmers to get sponsored for their swim (as much or as little as they can!). All money raised from this event will go towards maintaining and improving the treasured swimming pool but it is also a really fun event, since it is not everyday you can swim in a candle-lit pool!
As an incentive swimmers are also entered into a prize draw to win a free season ticket for 2013 if they are sponsored £20 or more. The website is www.cirenopenair.co.uk and the contact number is 01285 653947.
